(no subject)

the hubby was home all day yesterday with the guys working on our doors--but we now have a nice storm door, the back patio doors are secure, and the downstairs garage door is once again solid (it had disintegrated into component parts a month and some ago and we needed a new one). And they all have kick-in protection--I doubt anyone's going to come down our cul-de-sac and kick in our door, but apparently there are a rash of burglaries like that going around town, so what the heck. We have the alarm but the fastest response to an alarm is about 5 minutes, and burglars these days know it and clean out what they can in a few minutes (again, apparently; I haven't spoken to any personally). I think at this point our place is more like a training ground for someone planning to break into Fort Knox. ;)
